The International Herald Tribune/ The Asahi Shimbun is a unique collaboration in the world of journalism. It brings together the English edition of Japan's most esteemed vernacular newspaper, The Asahi Shimbun, and stories from The New York Times compiled by the IHT in Paris.

The IHT/Asahi, recognized as Japan's most authoritative English-language newspaper, was launched in April 2001.

The Asahi section offers unparalleled coverage of Japan, with an emphasis on presenting news and analyses.

The Op-Ed page features daily editorials from the vernacular Asahi Shimbun as well as its popular Vox Populi Vox Dei column.

The Friday edition runs weekly updates on arts and culture as well as listings of movies, exhibitions and other events.
