Midfielder Yuto Sato scored a late game-winner as Kyoto Sanga upset the front-running Kashima Antlers 2-1 at Kyoto's Nishikyogoku Stadium on Wednesday in Round 17 of the J.League first division.

Deadlocked at 1-1 in 84th minute, Sato, who moved to Sanga from JEF United Chiba in the offseason, scored his first goal for the Kyoto side. Forward Atsushi Yanagisawa opened the scoring for Sanga in 11th minute before midfielder Takuya Nozawa answered back 10 minutes later.

Consadole Sapporo and Oita Trinita played to a scoreless draw at Atsubetsu Stadium in Sapporo while Vissel Kobe beat the Yokohama F Marinos 1-0 at HOME's Stadium in Kobe.

F.C. Tokyo and Gamba Osaka played to a 1-1 draw at Tokyo's National Stadium, and at Big Swan Stadium Albirex Niigata and JEF United Chiba ended in a 2-2 stalemate.(IHT/Asahi: July 17,2008)
